KOTA BAHARU: The easing of recruitment terms would help increase Police Volunteer Reserves to maintain peace and prevent crime in the state, said Kelantan police chief Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman.
"The new recruiting term with a Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia minimum is open to all," he told Bernama after the end of a volunteer reserve training session at the Kelantan police head quarters, here today.
The 300 recruits who were inducted as new members of the reserve today formed part of the 850 members targeted by year end.
Jalaluddin said the volunteers were paid a special hourly allowance of between RM6 and RM7.80 from the lowest rank to assistant superintendent.
