This programme explores the essential role of graphic design in acting as a catalyst for social, cultural and political change in our contemporary society. The Diploma in Graphic Design in Saito exposes students to a wide-ranging perspective in graphic design and encompasses among others computer graphics, photography, illustration, typography, art and digital media.
We aim to nurture and further enhance the talents and creativity of students to unleash their full potential. Therefore, we constantly challenge and push our students out of their comfort zone to expand their view and creative thinking. Our challenging, dynamic and vibrant learning environment encourages students to embrace an approach of risk-taking, originality and innovation, enabling students to fully immerse themselves in our culture of experimentation and debate with differing ideologies and approaches.
We inject a heavy dose of industry insights and practical knowledge into our modules through our partners and lecturers who are distinguished and successful professionals and entrepreneurs in their own respective fields. Students have the precious opportunities to not only interact and learn from successful graphic designers and entrepreneurs, but also equip themselves with strong industry-driven skills and develop strong professional ethics, which are crucial to becoming world-class graphic designers. Our modules enable students to develop their skills in communication art, the creative component of the world of visual communication. They learn how to design compelling visual messages through images and words that are suitable for specific targeted audiences and market segments.
Throughout the programme, we progressively expose our students to the world of entrepreneurship, imbuing them with strong entrepreneurial qualities that have helped many of our alumni to succeed in their careers. Our modules integrate innovatively and comprehensively with the insights and experience of our highly-regarded industry experts and practitioners that enable students to produce outstanding and compelling commercial visual designs that are capable of taking the students’ careers to the next level and beyond. Upon completion of the course, students will have an industry-ready portfolio to take off in their careers in graphic design.
